Keep your word
Its something that has been almost forgotten these days. I remember my elders telling me: Oh this man is worthy of his word, his promise means something and so on…. Nowadays feeling is that this kind of idioms are long time forgotten. Because anything we say or do can be changed in the brink of a second. Promises we give to our loved ones, deadlines at work, contracts can be amended at anytime, and this list goes all the way to Infinity.
It just begs the question what is a word worth in these times ? Did we come to the point where we just speak to redirect somebody, and t inflate our own desires. Or it's just the way to make somebody satisfied with the things we say. It just looks like, people are so afraid of rejection or a conflict, so they will promise anything to anyone, just to escape this moment. There is no remorse about the future or how that can swing back to. Soul about pushing the problems a wave from one person to another.
We can all even look at the big picture, it's been 100 years when all humanity promised: never again and here we are, bringing over a new rising global problem. Moreover this was all put in writing agreed on hundreds of reputable adults and after some time it doesn't mean anything. Everyone is just shrugging their heads and telling absurd things like times have changed and it's not my responsibility anymore. Yes of course we can argue this is politics it's not for 1 human to control…
However we see the same thing happening on the smallest scale, in this scale we are very much in the control, but we choose not to be. How is it that humans can always find the excuse for anything that we do, or refuse to do ?
It must be in a human psychology to always forgive itself and to blame the outside circumstances. We rarely slow down and tell: oh it was all my fault I should improve on that. No instead all kinda excuses follow. And sadly this goes from the smallest scale to the most grandiose. Wouldn't life be so much more easy and practical if we just all do what we have promised to do: to our loved ones, neighbors, partners and etc.
I hope we can all will find that inner voice that will guide us and nations to an mutual agreement, with oneself and everything that surrounds us.
